Our Clean Ingredient Policy

At Beyond The Curls, we truly believe that the ingredients are the most important part of any product so we take pride in ensuring, you our customer, that we source the BEST on the market for all of our products. Every ingredient is derived from nature which includes our Grade A certified butters, natural and certified organic oils, and certified organic essential oils. We test our products with family, friends and a panel of volunteer customers before they're released for sale. This testing evaluation process allows us to confirm the true benefits of Beyond The Curls' products before they reach our customers.

At Beyond The Curls, our curl care is formulated with your healthiest curls in mind — to us, clean means no harsh, damaging or harmful chemicals. We believe that healthy curls start with healthy ingredients, and we believe that what you put on your hair and scalp is important.

Ingredients We Avoid

Choosing safer products (yes—that actually work) involves finding companies that are transparent with their ingredients and committed to safety testing. Knowing which ingredients to avoid in your beauty products helps you to make informed decisions.

Rule #1 is to pay attention to ingredient lists, not marketing claims.

Here at Beyond The Curls, we thought it would be helpful to go through the ingredients we think you should give a hard NO to in your haircare routine, and the ingredients that you will never find in ours:

NO parabens (methyl-, isobutyl-, propyl- and others)

NO phthalates
NO mineral oil or petroleum
NO formaldehyde
NO triclosan
NO ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA)
NO toluene
NO oxybenzone
NO hydroquinone
NO DEA, MEA, TEA or crude-oil derived ingredients
NO DMDM Hydantoin (Imidazolidinyl)
